The fabulous Laura K. Alger and I have a show up right now at Twist Gallery in Nashville TN called Fashioning Friendship.  The show is an apologetically pink room filled with drawings, textile works and site specific paintings.   The work featured is an extension of our ongoing collaborative work that has until now only existed online at

The show will be up for the entire month of November 2012.

This week I will be a guest tweeter for my alma mater The Vermont College of Fine Arts, a tiny but radically wonderful graduate school in Montpelier, VT.  Each week there will be a different voice tweeting from @WeAreVCFA.  I am really excited to be a part of this little social media experiment, and can't wait to see what each tweeter will contribute.

This week you can expect tweets about art, design, music and how all three collide and conspire with political events in the most delightful and challenging ways.  Also expect drawings, because that's kind of my thing.

See you on the Twitterverse!

Thanks to the Atlas team for including my work!! ❤

I recently left my beloved city of Montreal to move back in with my love, a history genius who moved away a year ago in the pursuit of higher education.  The one good thing about living a less exciting urban lifestyle is that I finally had time to revamp my previously outdated portfolio website

SR x NF part 1

As I mentioned in my last post, I recently joined forces with Simone's Rose designer Michelle Maynard for a summer collaboration.  A few months ago, Michelle sent me her inspiration for her new collection and from that I created a custom fabric pattern for her.  Since we both used to work for the same company doing basically the same thing (she designed the clothes, I designed the prints) working together was easy and familiar.  What was different though, was that this time we did not have anyone over us telling us what to do or taking away our creative control, which made the whole process so much more fun!

Above is a swatch of the final pattern that was sent to the fabric printer and a sneak peek of what is to come.  The fashion styles are still in progress but please visit
Simone's Rose website to see the beautiful things this print will be turned into.
I was so inspired by the collaboration that I created this summer illustration.
This illustration is available as a poster, a stretched canvas print, or a t-shirt print.
**TO ORDER please visit my SOCIETY 6 page.

SR x NF present a Summer Collaboration

In another lifetime, Michelle Maynard and Natalie Finkelstein spent their 9 to 5 working for the man; the same man actually. Since then, both have set off on their own, Michelle with her chic, Eco-conscious women's label Simone's Rose, and Natalie who explores her sartorial ambivalence through the creation of paintings, illustrations and videos under the name natfink. Both women have now merged their talents into an exciting collaboration that will be launching in June 2012. Until then, the above video is a sneak peak of what is to come.

Happy Valentine's Day

I know it's a stupid day invented by greeting cards companies or whatever, and it's stupid to need a day to celebrate love and bla bla bla... but I really like those little red candies.

BTS 2012

In one week I will be going back to school to present all of the nutty work I did over the last 6 months.  Let's just hope that my mom is not the only one who likes my art.

Supportive Indignation

A dear friend said this to me yesterday.  I thought it was such a great sentence and an amazing compliment that I made a drawing about it to thank him.

It's stupid how much I miss you

Sometimes I wonder if it would be better for us to just stay stupid together rather than try to get smart apart.

I haven’t got a stitch to wear.

One day I decided to photograph my entire wardrobe. Initially, I thought it would be a good way to weed out the worn and superfluous pieces, leaving me with more breathing room in my over-stuffed closet. The entire shoot took me eight hours - a full workday. By the end, I got rid of only two articles of clothing. The entire process was harder and longer than I had anticipated. Memories, friendships, places, sounds, workdays, trips, love - so many emotions are woven into my ever-growing wardrobe, making it hard to let go of not only of the objects themselves, but of what they represent. This video is more than a comment on consumer culture and the persuasive effects of the fashion industry. Instead, tokens of my memories and manifestations of my personal identity have been put on display, like a bodiless self-portrait. Oddly enough, 421 pieces of me later, I still haven’t got a stitch to wear.
